A 15th-century square tower around which the historic centre of Pietradefusi grew, now restored.

In Pietradefusi's historic centre rises the Aragonese Tower, the focal point around which the village developed. It was built around 1430 on the initiative of the Tocco family, perhaps over an older stone fortification on the limestone spur, and began as a lordly residence with a large square tower about eleven metres high. Its name comes from the Acquaviva d'Aragona, feudal lords between the 15th and 17th centuries, who incorporated it into their castle, part of which is still visible. Today the tower is restored and sometimes hosts exhibitions and events. We suggest strolling through the lanes around it, where you will also find the church of the Madonna dell'Arco.
