18th-century Capodimonte villa given by Joseph Bonaparte to the Prince of Gerace, later owned by the de Marsilio family.

In the Capodimonte area, Villa de Marsilio dates from the 18th century. King Joseph Bonaparte gave it, with its adjoining land, to the Prince of Gerace Pasquale Serra, Grand Chamberlain. It then passed to the Bourbons and in 1819 to Ottavio de Marsilio, hence its name. It tells of the transition from the French kingdom to the Restoration.
