The monks' old vineyard below the Certosa di San Martino, now a National Monument, with centuries-old paths and terraces.

At the foot of the 14th-century Certosa di San Martino a green hillside stretches out in the middle of the city: it is the old Vigna San Martino, now recognised as a National Monument by decree of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. We like to think that here, just steps from the traffic, an agricultural landscape shaped over centuries still survives.Clearing the wild vegetation has brought back to light paths, terraces and small rural buildings built by the monks over six centuries. A curiosity we love: the area can be explored by following the map drawn in 1775 by the Duke of Noja. Visits are possible on request, so we advise you to plan ahead.
