Small church born from a Roman shrine of the imperial villa of Pausilypon, on the descent to the Gaiola in Posillipo.

On the descent to the Gaiola, in Posillipo, stands a small church with a very ancient history: it was a small Roman temple, a votive altar of the Augustan age incorporated into the great imperial villa of Pausilypon.Converted to Christianity, around the year 1000 it was entrusted to the Basilian monks. The triangular pediment and some decorations can still be made out. A perfect stop on the way down to the Gaiola Underwater Park.
