Taburno-Camposauro Regional Park

Established in 2002, the regional park protects the Taburno-Camposauro massif, with the peaks of Taburno, Camposauro and Pentime, and embraces fourteen municipalities in the province of Benevento. Seen from the east, the outline of the mountains recalls a woman lying down: that is why it is called the Sleeping Woman of Sannio (la Dormiente del Sannio).In the valleys vineyards, olive groves, orchards and vegetable gardens alternate, a sign of very ancient human presence; higher up come woods of oak, chestnut and beech. We particularly like the Taburno State Forest, of Bourbon origin, with its precious silver firs protecting the Fizzo springs.
