The great Roman villas on the Varano hill, in Castellammare di Stabia.
On the Varano hill, above Castellammare di Stabia, stood luxurious Roman villas overlooking the gulf, buried by the eruption of AD 79.You can visit Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco, with frescoes, gardens and panoramic terraces. They are less crowded than Pompeii, but just as beautiful.
