Stabian Antiquarium

The Stabian Antiquarium gathers some 8,000 finds brought to light in the excavations of Stabia from 1950 onwards. About half come from the grave goods of the necropolis on Via Madonna delle Grazie, linked to the archaic and pre-Roman settlement of ancient Stabiae.Among the objects we are struck by the bucchero vases, the amulets imported from the East and the Corinthian, Attic and Campanian pottery. The Region lists it as closed: we suggest checking beforehand and, in the meantime, visiting the great Roman villas of Varano.
