A four-room museum in the Santa Chiara complex telling the history of the monastery through vestments, relics and friezes of the Poor Clares.

Inside the monumental complex of Santa Chiara, the Museo dell'Opera unfolds across four rooms tracing Neapolitan history from antiquity to the 20th century. The route clearly reconstructs the transformations of the complex over the centuries, and is an excellent way to better understand what you then see in the church and the cloister. In the display cases we find sacred vestments, liturgical objects and relics. We particularly like the fragments of the friezes that decorated the cells of the Poor Clares, accompanied by reproductions of the coats of arms of the noble families some of the nuns came from. We recommend setting aside some time for it during your visit to the complex.
