Old royal residence in Castellammare, enlarged by the Bourbons and a stop on the Grand Tour, restored in 2009.

The royal palace of Quisisana dates back to around 1200 and over the centuries has been a residence, a college and a hotel. It was Charles of Bourbon and then Ferdinand IV who enlarged it, joining the buildings into a single L-shaped block with a large terrace, about a hundred rooms and a chapel. The garden with fountains, the royal stables and the farm buildings made it a stop on the Grand Tour. After long neglect it was restored in 2009: today it hosts cultural events and, in summer, classical music concerts.
