1934–1936 Rationalist building on piazza Matteotti, nicknamed the "bollard" for its unusual shape.

On piazza Matteotti, Palazzo Troise was built between 1934 and 1936 to a design by Alessandro Carnelli, replacing a 16th-century palazzo, for offices and flats. In 1939, visiting Naples, Mussolini called it a "paracarro" (bollard) because of its strange shape. It is one of the pieces of the square's great Rationalist ensemble, with the Post Office and the Palazzo della Provincia.
