An 18th-century palace in the Quartieri Spagnoli, built for the Nardones family who gave the street its name, with a curious radial overdoor.

This palace was built in the first half of the 18th century for the noble Nardones family, who also gave the street its name. Its story is typical of many buildings in the Quartieri: built as residences for aristocratic families and their households, they were later divided into flats to rent when the nobility moved towards Chiaia and Posillipo. The building has a square plan with a central courtyard, tuff walls and a single-flight staircase on cross vaults; two floors were added in the 1950s. The rebuilt façade is very plain, but we recommend pausing at the round-arched portal and above all at the curious overdoor decorated with circular motifs arranged in a sunburst.
