Palazzo Mainenti in Vallo della Lucania

In the centre of Vallo della Lucania stands Palazzo Mainenti, considered one of the most important examples of a gentleman's residence in Cilento. Owned for generations by the family of the same name, it was enlarged in the early 19th century by Eugenio Mainenti, the first mayor of Vallo. After careful restoration it was inaugurated in 2014 as the headquarters of the Cilento National Park Authority.We like its rich decoration: decorated ceilings and wall paintings, façades with cornices and stucco, fine window frames and original plasterwork. We also recommend looking at the early 20th-century decorated floors preserved in some rooms, which complete the charm of this historic residence.
