The great national park of southern Campania, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Biosphere Reserve and Geopark, with mountains, caves and coastline.

The Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park is the second largest protected park in Italy. In 1998 UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site for its extraordinary natural and cultural wealth; since 1997 it has also been a Biosphere Reserve and since 2010 a Geopark, thanks to its many karst caves and the layered rocks of the Cilento Flysch, with their surprising colours. The territory stretches from the peaks of the Alburni to Gelbison, from Bulgheria to Cervati, down to the two marine protected areas of Santa Maria di Castellabate and the Costa degli Infreschi e della Masseta. We recommend looking for the Palinuro primrose, an endemic flower and symbol of the park that grows on the cliffs, and exploring the many coastal caves between Palinuro and Scario.
