A 15th-century palace on Spaccanapoli faced with grey and yellow ashlar, with a portal framed by a laurel wreath.

Along Spaccanapoli, on the lower decumanus, the palace of the Carafa family dates from the 15th century. Sources attribute its construction to Masuccio Secondo and say the building was meant to house a collection of antiquities; the architect Angelo Aniello Fiore also worked on the project. We are struck by the façade, entirely faced with alternating grey and yellow ashlar blocks. We recommend pausing at the portal, framed by a wreath of laurel leaves, with the symbols of the Carafa family on the frieze. The palace is closed, but can be admired very well from the street.
