Elegant 18th-century palazzo in the port, commissioned by Charles of Bourbon as the seat of the Health Office.

In the port area, between the calata del Piliero and the calata di Porta di Massa, stands the Palazzo dell'Immacolatella, built in the 1740s at the behest of Charles of Bourbon. It housed the Deputazione della Salute (Health Office), which inspected arriving ships to prevent epidemics. It originally stood on a pier, connected by two bridges. The name comes from the statue of the Immaculate Virgin that crowns it.
