One of the main Baroque palazzi in Naples, behind Via Toledo, built in 1580 and later owned by the Carafa di Maddaloni.

On Via Maddaloni, on the lower decumanus and next to Via Toledo, Palazzo Carafa di Maddaloni is one of the most important Baroque buildings in the city.It was built in 1580 for Cesare d'Avalos on land called «Biancomangiare», then passed to the Carafa, Dukes of Maddaloni, who transformed it in the 17th century. The great portal by Cosimo Fanzago and the monumental courtyard are worth a detour.
