A palace on Via Toledo built for the family of the Prince of Monaco and his court, enriched with reused busts, sculptures and coats of arms.

This palace overlooks Via Toledo, built by an unknown architect to house the family of the Prince of Monaco and his large court. The prince himself enriched it with many reused elements, such as busts, sculptural groups and coats of arms, which he bought in Naples and on his travels: some traces of them still survive today. The building has a rectangular plan, tuff walls and a terrace roof; inside, barrel and cross vaults alternate, and a single-flight grand staircase rests on cross vaults. The upper floors are later additions, from the late 19th century onwards. We suggest looking for its old details as you stroll along Via Toledo.
