Old baronial residence with a portal from 1605, a paved courtyard and a family chapel dedicated to the Ascension.
Overlooking its square, the Palace of the Galdi Barons is an old building in Pollica with a portal dated 1605. Looking up under the entrance vault you can spot the painted family coat of arms, and beyond the portal opens a large paved courtyard, once dominated by a defensive tower.We are especially intrigued by the family chapel next to the palace, dedicated to the Ascension: inside there is a small gallery from which the barons attended services without mixing with the congregation. We recommend stopping here during a walk through the village, respectfully observing this historic residence.
