Two old oratories beside the Gesù Nuovo, with frescoes by Giovanni Lanfranco, Battistello Caracciolo and Belisario Corenzio.

In the building to the left of the church of the Gesù Nuovo, now home to a secondary school, were two very fine oratories. In the former Oratory of the Nobles we raise our eyes to the vault, where Giovanni Lanfranco painted saints and allegorical figures around a central panel with the Nativity by Battistello Caracciolo. The old sacristy, which now serves as the school's entrance hall, is enriched by elaborate stucco work by Giovan Domenico Vinaccia, dated 1682. Further on is the former Oratory of the Ladies, decorated by Belisario Corenzio with episodes from the life of the Virgin. We love the idea of discovering such a rich pictorial cycle in a place of everyday study.
