17th-century oratory of a noble confraternity beside Santa Maria degli Angeli, with walnut stalls and a polychrome marble altar.

Next to the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli at Pizzofalcone is the oratory of an archconfraternity founded in the first half of the 17th century by a group of aristocrats. For over two centuries the brotherhood was reserved for nobles only. You can reach it either through a corridor behind the church choir or from a small side alley, a detail that makes the visit even more intriguing. The spacious, bright hall was renovated in Neoclassical style, but has kept older treasures. We recommend pausing over the backs of the stalls, carved in walnut in the 17th century, and the fine 18th-century altar in polychrome marble. The oratory can be visited on request.
