In the village of Terracorpo, the old core of Marzano Appio, the ancient castle of the Marzano family, turned into an austere palazzo in the 18th century.
The castle of Marzano Appio stands in the village of Terracorpo, the original core of the town, and is linked to the Marzano family, for centuries feudal lords of the territory. The base masonry dates from the Norman period; the Angevins altered it in the 14th century and under the Aragonese it became a residence.In the 18th century it took on its present appearance: a long tuff façade with large decorated openings on the piano nobile. Damaged by war, by the 1980s earthquake and by neglect, it is now awaiting restoration; we recommend viewing it from the outside, strolling among the houses of the village that dominates the landscape.
