The Medici castle of Ottaviano, on a hill, now the headquarters of the Vesuvius National Park authority.
The Medici Castle stands on a height on the edge of Ottaviano. It was Giuseppe II Medici who built the palace over the medieval castle, documented as early as the 11th century: three floors around a courtyard, with a grand portal, frescoes and majolica floors.Confiscated in 1991, since 2003 it has been the headquarters of the Vesuvius National Park authority. We like it as a symbol of property returned to the community: we suggest going up for the view of the volcano.
