The protohistoric village on the water at Poggiomarino, the "prehistoric Venice" of the Sarno.

At Longola, in the territory of Poggiomarino, archaeologists have discovered a village built on artificial islets along the River Sarno, inhabited between the Bronze Age and the Iron Age.Its inhabitants moved along canals and worked metal, bone and amber. Because of its structure on the water the site has been called the "prehistoric Venice".
