Remains of an Italic sanctuary with podium, pronaos and cella, a place of worship for the villages of the Sinuessa area.

In the Panetelle area lie the foundations of an Italic-type temple, oriented north-east to south-west, with its podium, pronaos and a cella divided by cross walls. The sanctuary must have been large and also included spaces for making the statuettes and objects offered to the deity.Excavations in the 1970s uncovered several Hellenistic votive deposits, one sealed beneath the podium, with materials from the 7th to the 4th century BC. We are fascinated to know that in the archaic period the people of the villages of the Sinuessa area gathered here. The temple was monumentalised in the 2nd century BC and declined after the age of Sulla.
