An area inhabited since the 4th century BC, marked by Augustus' land division, a rustic villa and a Roman necropolis.

The territory of Cimitile has a very long history: as early as the 4th century BC there was a first place of worship here, bounded by a road and a portico of tuff blocks. We like walking here knowing that over two thousand years of life lie layered beneath our feet.In the second half of the 1st century BC Emperor Augustus had the land north of Nola divided up to assign it to his veterans, with a regular grid of roads. In the early imperial age a rustic villa arose in the area and, between the 2nd and 3rd centuries, a necropolis. We recommend completing the visit with the famous Early Christian basilicas.
