The Convitto Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele II on Piazza Dante, founded in 1768 in the former Jesuit college; still a school today.

On Piazza Dante, the great hemicycle of Luigi Vanvitelli's Foro Carolino houses the Convitto Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele II. Its story begins in 1768, when Ferdinand IV, having expelled the Jesuits, founded a college here.It is still a school today, with secondary schools and a boarding school. At the centre of the hemicycle we notice the niche intended for a statue of Charles III, never put in place, topped by the clock tower: one of the symbols of the square.
