Redemptorist convent founded after 1734 by St Alphonsus Maria de Liguori in Ciorani, with the saint's cell.

This convent stems from the arrival of St Alphonsus Maria de Liguori in Ciorani in 1734, when he was invited to found a house of the order of the Most Holy Redeemer here. Work began the following year. The complex is spread over three floors, and on the third the saint's cell is still preserved, which we like to visit in silence. On the second floor there is an oratory, later called the Chapter Chapel. Among the most precious works are the statue of the Madonna del Patrocinio, four small statues of the Passion and a painted Crucifix attributed to Alphonsus himself. We also recommend looking for the old press, linked to a miraculous episode in the saint's life.
