A museum in Greci devoted to rural life and Arbëreshë culture, the legacy of 15th-century Albanian exiles.

The Civic Museum of Rural Life and Arbëreshë Culture is in Greci, the only village in Campania where Arbëreshë, an old form of Albanian, is still spoken. The community's ancestors arrived in the 15th century in the train of George Castriot Skanderbeg, who came to Italy to help Ferdinand I of Naples.We like it because it brings together two souls of the village: life in the fields and Albanian traditions, such as the Good Friday songs and the sacred drama for Saint Bartholomew on 25 August. We suggest completing the visit in the Breggo district, where the old dry-stone houses called kalive survive.
