The main church of Piscinola, in the old "land of the Saviour" already mentioned in the 10th century.

The village of Piscinola already existed in 536, and in the Middle Ages its territory was called the "land of the Saviour": the name appears in a deed of 941. A church dedicated to the Saviour stood here, and the present one rose on its ruins. It is the district's main church, in the heart of the old village, and has been a parish since before the Council of Trent. A stop for discovering the ancient roots of the northern districts of Naples.
