Church of the Pellegrini archconfraternity in Montecalvario, founded in the 16th century to take in pilgrims and the sick.

On via Portamedina, near Montesanto, the church of the Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini tells a story of hospitality. The knight Fabrizio Pignatelli wanted to create a place to lodge pilgrims passing through Naples; when he died in 1577, he left his estate to build it.From 1582 it was run by the Arciconfraternita dei Pellegrini, linked to the one founded in Rome by Saint Philip Neri: it built a hostel, then a hospital, and an oratory that became a church, enriched with works of art. The archconfraternity is still active.
