A 19th-century Greek-cross church on the Pizzofalcone hill, founded in the 17th century as the chapel of the viceregal troops; currently closed.

On the Pizzofalcone hill stands this church, founded in the 17th century as the parish of the viceregal soldiers quartered nearby. For this reason it held the rank of royal chapel and was long dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary, until in the mid-19th century it took the title of the Immaculate Conception. In those years it was rebuilt with the support of Ferdinand II of Bourbon, as a plaque beside the entrance recalls. The rebuilding was entrusted to the architect Francesco Jaoul, who chose a Greek-cross plan with five altars. Sadly the war destroyed most of the paintings and furnishings. Today the building is closed: we recommend admiring it from outside, letting your eye rise along the theatrical double staircase that reaches the façade.
