Sixteenth-century church in the heart of old Piscinola, opposite the Santissimo Salvatore, reopened by Ferdinand IV.

In the centre of the old village of Piscinola, right opposite the church of the Santissimo Salvatore, the Jesuits founded a small church with an oratory in the 16th century, later enlarged over time.In the 18th century a dispute between the parish priest and the Estaurita, the old confraternity based here, led to its closure by order of the king; it was Ferdinand IV of Bourbon who authorised its reopening after a new statute was approved. A small tale of community life in the villages around Naples.
