Nineteenth-century church in the Arenella built by Ferdinand II's soldiers, with an octagonal plan and Gothic mullioned windows.

In the Pigna area, in the Arenella, this church was born in the time of Ferdinand II. The king's soldiers trained on these hills, then inhabited mostly by farmers, and it was they who, at the locals' invitation, built a church dedicated to the Addolorata (Our Lady of Sorrows). The stone came from the Soccavo quarries. The interior has an octagonal plan inspired by the sacristy of San Francesco di Paola, but with Gothic ribs and mullioned windows; there is also a canvas by Raffaele Iodice.
