18th-century Greek-cross church designed by Giovan Battista Nauclerio for the Somaschan Fathers, with three altarpieces from 1748.

This church in the heart of the old town was built in 1706 to a design by Giovan Battista Nauclerio, commissioned by the Somaschan Fathers, who had bought the land of an old Benedictine convent. Later the same religious order also acquired the nearby Palazzo Penne, where they set up their college. We enjoy discovering how the stories of different religious orders intertwine within just a few metres. The interior has a compact and harmonious Greek-cross plan. Today what remains are mainly the three altar paintings, all dated 1748: on the high altar the Madonna with Saints Dominic and Boniface by Nicola Maria Rossi, and at the sides works by Crescenzio Gamba and Antonio Romeo. The church can be visited on request: we advise you to plan ahead.
