A 15th-century chapel in the San Giovanni a Carbonara complex, with a refined Gothic portal adorned with statues of female saints.

It is part of the San Giovanni a Carbonara complex and, in fact, forms its façade: the Chapel of Santa Monica was commissioned in the 15th century by the Sanseverino family, probably by Ruggero Sanseverino, who is buried here.Let's stop in front of the Gothic marble portal: six female saints appear in the niches, including Agatha, Catherine and Barbara, above which are the Annunciation and the figures of Saint John the Baptist and Saint Augustine. It is a small, precious testimony to the transition to the Renaissance in Naples.
