Late 16th-century church and monastery in the historic centre, with a richly gilded wooden ceiling and a crenellated octagonal bell tower.

In the San Lorenzo district, near the Incurabili, stands Santa Maria Regina Coeli. In 1590 the Lateran canonesses turned a noble palazzo into a convent and in 1594 completed the church.Let's look up at the inlaid and gilded wooden ceiling, made between 1634 and 1659 by Pietro De Marino. In the cloister, remodelled in the 17th century, is a 16th-century fountain-well with marble obelisks and spheres; and from the street we recognise the crenellated octagonal bell tower above an overpass.
