A Carmelite church in Montesanto with a dome by Dionisio Lazzari from 1680 and canvases by Paolo De Matteis.

Near Montesanto station, in the Avvocata district, stands the church built by a community of Sicilian Carmelites. The design was by Pietro de Marino; the work was completed by Dionisio Lazzari, who created the dome in 1680.On the façade, stucco work depicts Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Inside, on a Latin-cross plan, we look for two canvases by Paolo De Matteis from 1693 and, in the left transept, a moving 17th-century wooden group with the Crucifix, the Madonna and Saint John.
