An elliptical church on Piazza Dante built in 1627, with canvases by Francesco Solimena; next door is the historic institute for blind young people.

On Piazza Dante, the Church of Santa Maria di Caravaggio was built in 1627 and later dedicated to the Madonna who appeared in 1432 at Caravaggio, in Lombardy. The convent became a school and from 1873 housed the institute for blind young people founded by Domenico Martuscelli. The church has an elliptical single-nave plan. On the high altar is the Birth of Mary by Gaetano Gigante; in the chapels we look for the paintings by Francesco Solimena dedicated to Saint Joseph.
