A church from 1572 near the seafront, built to commemorate the victory of Lepanto; it holds canvases by Massimo Stanzione.

Near the seafront, between San Ferdinando and Chiaia, stands the Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria, built in 1572 to celebrate the victory of the Holy League at Lepanto the year before. It was later remodelled by the daughter and granddaughter of Don John of Austria, the victor of the battle. Inside we notice four Corinthian columns in fine marble beneath the dome, the Annunciation by Massimo Stanzione and a canvas showing the Virgin appearing to Don John during the battle.
