The church that gives the Stella district its name, rebuilt by Domenico Fontana in 1587, with a façade completed by Vaccaro in 1734.

On Piazzetta Stella stands the church that gave its name to the whole district. It was founded in 1571 to house an image of the Madonna venerated near Porta San Gennaro and entrusted to the Minim Fathers of Saint Francis of Paola. From 1587 it was rebuilt by Domenico Fontana; the façade in piperno stone and marble, begun by Bartolomeo Picchiatti, was completed in 1734 by Domenico Antonio Vaccaro. A fire in 1944 destroyed part of the interior decoration, but the church remains the heart of the neighbourhood.
