A church on the slopes of the Vomero, along the old Via Antiniana, founded at the end of the 16th century.

The Church of Santa Maria della Libera stands on the slopes of the Vomero, along the old Via Antiniana that linked Naples to Pozzuoli. The decision to found it dates back to 1572, but work on the church and convent only began in 1587.The complex was entrusted to the Dominican friars, but work proceeded slowly: what we see today is the result of a later, radical restoration. We recommend discovering it on foot along the old uphill lanes of the Vomero.
