Small Renaissance church of the Seggio di Portanova, chapel of the Bonifacio-Mormile family, with a carved doorway.

Near Santa Maria in Cosmedin, in the area of the Seggio di Portanova, stands a small Renaissance temple born as the chapel of the powerful Bonifacio-Mormile family. It was probably renovated in 1660 at the Seggio's expense. Let's pause at the rectangular doorway decorated with bas-reliefs, in which scholars recognise the hand of Giovan Tommaso Malvito, son of the better-known Tommaso. Above it are a large window and a low dome.
