Nineteenth-century church on via Oronzio Costa, founded in 1843 with a girls' school thanks to a craftsman's bequest.

On via Oronzio Costa, in the historic centre, the church of Santa Maria del Monte dei Poveri was opened around 1843 together with a girls' boarding school, the Biancolelle college. It came about thanks to the bequest of a craftsman, Francesco Biancolella, and the initiative of the congregation of the Monte dei Poveri, which bought and converted an existing palazzo. An example of the many charitable works that have shaped the history of Naples.
