Small 14th-century church behind San Gregorio Armeno, famous for the "skull with ears" in its hypogeum.

In the alley of the same name, between via San Biagio dei Librai and San Gregorio Armeno, stands Santa Luciella, founded shortly before 1327 by Bartolomeo di Capua, counsellor to the Angevin kings. It later became the chapel of the millers and, later still, of the pipernieri, the piperno stoneworkers. After years of closure it has been restored and reopened. In the underground hypogeum is the famous "skull with ears", linked to the cult of the anime pezzentelle (poor souls), into which Neapolitans whispered their prayers.
