Fourteenth-century church of the Seggio del Nilo on via Guacci Nobile; on its wall is the famous "Zizze" fountain.

On via Guacci Nobile, in the historic centre, the church of Santa Caterina della Spina Corona was founded in the 14th century by the nobles of the Seggio del Nilo and rebuilt in the 17th century to a design by Giovanni Ambrogio Mazenta; it still has its original doors. On an outside wall is the curious Fontana della Spinacorona, which Neapolitans call "delle Zizze": a siren, symbol of Parthenope, putting out the fire of Vesuvius with water. The church is due to be returned to the Jewish community.
