Eighteenth-century church in Chiaia that surprises inside: 37 metres long, with a dome 35 metres high behind a modest façade.

In the Chiaia district, the church of Santa Caterina deceives passers-by: the façade is modest, but inside opens a space 37 metres long with a dome rising to 35 metres. It was built in the 17th century on land given to the Franciscans of the Third Order, where a little chapel called "Santa Caterenella" stood. Its present form dates from 1713: a Latin cross, interconnecting side chapels and an 18th-century décor well worth discovering.
