Seventeenth-century church on via Santa Brigida, near the Galleria Umberto, where the great painter Luca Giordano is buried.

On via Santa Brigida, a stone's throw from the Galleria Umberto I and via Toledo, is the church where Luca Giordano, one of the greatest painters of the Neapolitan Baroque, rests. It began in 1609 as a private chapel, then passed to the Lucchese fathers, who enlarged it between 1637 and 1640. A curious constraint was imposed by the Spanish: the dome had to stay low so as not to obstruct the cannon fire of the Maschio Angioino. Inside, let's look for works by Giordano himself.
