The church of the convent of Sant'Antonio at Prepezzano, founded in the 16th century and reopened to the Friars Minor in 1839.

This church at Prepezzano is part of the complex of the convent of Sant'Antonio, probably founded between 1520 and 1540 and documented with certainty in 1564. First entrusted to the Minim fathers, it was abandoned for lack of means and suppressed in 1653; shortly afterwards it passed to the reformed Friars Minor, who formed a small community there.Under the Napoleonic laws the convent was closed in 1807, but the church remained open for worship. The inhabitants loudly demanded the friars' return, and on 4 May 1839 the complex was reopened. We like this story of a community's attachment to its convent: we recommend a quiet stop during a walk through the village.
