Ponticelli church of 1578 dedicated to Saint Roch, protector against plague, with an 18th-century wooden statue of the saint.

In Ponticelli, in the eastern part of Naples, the church of San Rocco was born in 1578 from a chapel of 1528. It was dedicated to Saint Roch of Montpellier, the saint invoked against the plague.Inside, with a single nave, we find a marble high altar and an 18th-century wooden statue of the saint; scenes from his life are illustrated on the walls. It has been a parish since 1943 and was restored in 1977.
