Neo-Gothic Piscinola church of 1890, born where nobles took refuge during the plague of 1656, making a vow to Saint Roch.

During the plague of 1656, some Neapolitan nobles made a vow to Saint Roch and took refuge here, in Piscinola, where they built their houses and a small chapel dedicated to the saint: the area took the name "San Rocco".In 1890, at the request of the inhabitants, Cardinal Sanfelice had a larger church built in neo-Gothic style, with its entrance on via Santa Maria a Cubito. It tells well the bond between the city and its old outlying villages.
